Russian aviation company Red Wings plans to return Airbus planes to foreign owners.
Now the company has eight planes on lease. According to Kommersant, the domestic carrier fears that the EU will prohibit any form of maintenance of the airliners.
“The board of directors has taken such a decision, it remains to obtain permission from the rights commission to take it out,” the newspaper writes, citing a source.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on the registration of rights to foreign aircraft leased by domestic companies. This decision is aimed at ensuring the smooth operation of aviation.
